    ANALOG DEVICES AD620ARZ Product Overview

    The AD620ARZ is a low-cost, high-precision instrumentation amplifier from Analog Devices, designed for applications requiring accurate differential signal amplification. It requires only one external resistor to set gains from 1 to 10,000, greatly simplifying circuit design . The device offers higher performance than discrete 3-op-amp designs and is housed in a compact 8-lead SOIC package .

    Operating from a ±2.3 V to ±18 V dual supply (or +2.3 V to +18 V single supply), it features a 1 MHz -3 dB bandwidth with a 1.2 V/µs slew rate . The input bias current is as low as 500 pA (1.0 nA maximum), made possible by Superβeta processing in the input stage . The device offers 50 µV input offset voltage (max), 0.6 µV/°C offset drift, and 15 µs settling time to 0.01% . Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C . Mass is approximately 0.071 g .

    The AD620ARZ employs a classic three-op-amp instrumentation amplifier architecture with proprietary Superβeta input transistor processing, delivering an excellent combination of accuracy, low power, and low noise . The gain-setting flexibility—requiring just a single external resistor—enables gains from 1 to 10,000, making it adaptable to a wide range of signal levels .

    The device's high CMRR (100 dB minimum at G=10) effectively rejects common-mode interference, which is critical when amplifying small differential signals in noisy environments . The ultra-low input bias current and high input impedance (10 GΩ) ensure minimal loading on high-impedance sensors . The low voltage noise of 9 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz and 0.28 µV p-p in the 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz band makes the AD620ARZ an excellent preamplifier for weak signal applications .

    The 15 µs settling time to 0.01% makes the AD620ARZ well-suited for multiplexed applications . With a maximum supply current of only 1.3 mA, the device is ideal for battery-powered and portable equipment .
