    LEM AK 50 B420L Product Overview

    The AK 50 B420L is a split-core AC current transducer from LEM's AK series, designed for the electronic measurement of AC sinusoidal currents with galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits. The B420L variant features jumper selectable measuring ranges (10A, 20A, 50A) and a loop-powered 4-20mA current output.

    Rated for 50 A nominal with selectable 10A/20A/50A measuring ranges, it outputs 4-20mA with ±1% accuracy. Bandwidth is 20Hz to 100Hz and response time is 300ms. Supply voltage is 24V DC (loop-powered). Mass is 120g and operating temperature is -20°C to +50°C. Insulation test voltage is 3kV with 150V AC rated voltage (CAT III, PD2).

    The AK 50 B420L employs air-core technology delivering ±1% accuracy with average-responding (RMS calibrated) measurement for sinusoidal AC currents. The split-core design enables quick installation on existing cables without system interruption. The loop-powered 4-20mA output simplifies wiring and reduces installation costs for industrial control systems. Jumper-selectable ranges (10A/20A/50A) provide flexibility without hardware changes. The AK series provides average-responding (RMS calibrated) measurement for sinusoidal currents, distinguishing it from the AKR series which provides True RMS for non-sinusoidal or distorted VFD/SCR waveforms. The part is Active, RoHS compliant, and available through authorized distributors with a standard lead time of 10 weeks.
