The LEM CAS6-NP is a multi-range current sensor based on closed-loop fluxgate technology. With a rated current of 6 A RMS and a maximum measurement range up to ±20 A, it is widely used in industrial motor drives, power supplies, and automation control. The sensor is designed for PCB mounting, operates from a single +5 V supply, and provides an output voltage signal. It measures DC, AC, and pulsed currents while providing electrical isolation between the primary and secondary circuits, offering a safe and reliable current monitoring solution for your system.

The CAS6-NP uses closed-loop fluxgate sensing technology. Compared to traditional open-loop Hall-effect sensors, it offers lower zero drift, better temperature stability, and higher linearity. Over the entire operating temperature range of -40 ℃ to +85 ℃, the sensor maintains excellent measurement consistency, making it particularly suitable for industrial environments where ambient temperature varies widely, ensuring long-term stable operation.
The offset of the sensor changes very little with temperature – a significant advantage in alternating high-low temperature environments. Whether in a freezing workshop in the north or a hot factory floor in the south, the CAS6-NP maintains stable measurement accuracy without frequent recalibration, reducing system maintenance costs.
In highspeed power conversion applications such as inverters and switched-mode power supplies, there are many voltage change rate (dv/dt) spikes that can interfere with surrounding circuits. The CAS6-NP offers outstanding dv/dt immunity, maintaining signal integrity in noisy environments and avoiding measurement errors or false triggering – an ideal choice for high-performance power electronic systems.
The CAS6-NP is housed in a compact modular package designed for PCB through-hole mounting. Its pinout is compatible with the LTS series, making it easy to upgrade existing designs. The case material meets UL 94-V0 flammability rating, ensuring safety in demanding electrical environments.
The sensor provides a wide frequency response from DC to 300 kHz with a response time of less than 0.3 µs, accurately capturing transient details in high-frequency currents. From the inrush current at motor start-up to fine details in PWM waveforms, the CAS6-NP responds quickly and delivers accurate output, providing real-time and reliable current feedback for closed-loop control systems.
With its outstanding performance, the CAS6-NP is widely used in the following fields:
AC variable-frequency drives
Servo motor drive systems
Static converters for DC motor drives
Current monitoring in battery-powered applications
Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
Current feedback control in switched-mode power supplies (SMPS)
Current monitoring in welding equipment power supplies
Realtime current control in industrial special power supplies
Current detection in solar inverters
Current monitoring in electric vehicle charging equipment
Current optimisation control in high-energy-consumption equipment
Power management in cars, buses and trucks
Current monitoring in on-board motor drive systems
