    FDD8424H Product Overview

    The FDD8424H is a complementary dual N- and P-channel enhancement mode power MOSFET from onsemi's PowerTrench® Series, designed for high-efficiency power switching applications requiring both N-channel and P-channel devices in a single compact package. The FDD8424H features complementary channel configuration with low on-state resistance, fast switching speed, and logic-level gate drive capability, making it ideal for half-bridge and inverter topologies.

    The device combines a 40V N-channel rated for 9A continuous drain current with a 40V P-channel rated for 6.5A continuous drain current (package-limited), with silicon-limited ratings up to ±20A for both channels. It is packaged in a 5-pin TO-252 (DPAK) surface-mount package with exposed tab for enhanced thermal performance. Mass is approximately 0.3 g and operating junction temperature ranges from -55°C to +150°C. The device is RoHS compliant and is being discontinued (Last Shipments status).

    FDD8424H Key Advantages

    The FDD8424H employs onsemi's advanced PowerTrench® process, delivering low on-state resistance of 24 mΩ (N-Ch) and 54 mΩ (P-Ch) while maintaining superior switching performance with typical fall times as low as 6 ns for N-channel and 3 ns for P-channel. The ±40V drain-source voltage range provides ample voltage margin for 24V systems, while the complementary channel configuration simplifies PCB layout by integrating both N and P-channel devices in a single package, reducing component count and board space. The TO-252-5 package with exposed pad accommodates efficient heat dissipation, and the logic-level gate drive (VGS ±20V max) enables direct interfacing with 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. The fast switching speed and low gate charge minimize switching losses in high-frequency applications.
