Since LEM invented the world's first closed-loop Hall-effect current transducer in 1972, the company has remained at the forefront of sensor technology. The HAIS100-P employs a proven, mature open-loop Hall-effect measurement principle, enabling precise electronic measurement of DC, AC, pulsed, and mixed currents.
The key advantages of the open-loop Hall effect are compact construction and extremely low power consumption, making it ideal for PCB-embedded systems where space and energy are at a premium. The transducer has no magnetic core saturation issues, covering a wide bandwidth from DC to 50 kHz and meeting the requirements of most industrial control and power management applications.
±1% accuracy combined with ±0.5% linearity ensures reliable measurements. Whether dealing with inrush currents during motor start-up or high-frequency switching currents in variable frequency drives, the 5 µs fast response time allows the control system to react immediately, reducing the risk of overcurrent damage and improving operational safety.
2500 V test voltage for insulation creates a solid safety barrier between the primary high-power circuit and the secondary electronic circuit, giving engineers peace of mind during commissioning and maintenance. The UL94-V0 rated housing provides the highest level of flame resistance under extreme conditions.
From the outset, the HAIS series was designed with PCB-embedded installation as a core concept. The small form factor allows direct soldering onto the board, saving valuable internal space for additional functionality.
Wide Temperature Range – Unfazed by Extreme Conditions
An operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C enables the HAIS100-P to handle everything from outdoor cabinets in harsh winters to unventilated factory floors in southern summers. Whether deployed on industrial production lines or at renewable energy sites, the transducer delivers stable, accurate output.
With a maximum supply current of just 19 mA, power consumption at 5 V is less than 0.1 W. For battery-powered equipment (e.g., electric forklifts, AGVs, portable instruments), long-term operation does not compromise battery life, aligning with modern green design principles.
The transducer offers high immunity to external electromagnetic interference, maintaining stable, clean output even near strong interference sources such as drives and high-power switching power supplies, reducing filtering and shielding design efforts.
With its excellent performance, the HAIS100-P is widely used in:
Industrial Drives & Control – AC variable frequency drives, servo motor drives, DC motor drives, static converters, etc. In servo drives for industrial robots, real-time current monitoring ensures precise motion control.
Power Management Systems – Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), welding equipment power supplies, etc. Accurate input/output current monitoring enables overcurrent protection and energy efficiency optimization.
Battery-Powered Equipment – Electric vehicles, AGVs, energy storage systems requiring precise current monitoring.
New Energy Vehicles – Battery pack current monitoring in battery management systems (BMS), DC/DC converters, AC/DC inverters. LEM has deep experience and proven application in the new energy vehicle sector, and the HAIS series is trusted by many automotive manufacturers.
Renewable Energy – Solar inverters, wind power converters, and other renewable energy generation systems where accurate current feedback improves power conversion efficiency.
Test & Measurement – On-site maintenance of industrial equipment, laboratory test equipment, etc.
