    LEM HC16F 1600-S00 Product Overview

    The HC16F 1600-S00 is an open-loop Hall effect current transducer from LEM's HC16F series, designed for the electronic measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits. This through-hole version (S00) is specifically engineered for high-power automotive applications, featuring a compact design for PCB mounting and a dual air-gap structure that significantly reduces core size and weight. The device utilizes a dual ASIC configuration that eliminates external magnetic field interference, providing excellent cross-talk immunity.

    Rated for 1600 A nominal with a ±1600 A measuring range, it outputs a ratiometric voltage of 2.5 V ± 2 V (instantaneous) with 1.75% accuracy and ±0.5% linearity. Sensitivity is 1.25 mV/A. Response time is 4 µs and bandwidth is 40 kHz. Supply voltage is +5 V (4.85 to 5.15 V) with a maximum supply current of 35 mA. Mass is 29 g and operating temperature is -40°C to +125°C. The sensor offers very low thermal offset and sensitivity drift for stable performance across temperature.

    The HC16F 1600-S00 employs open-loop Hall effect technology with a proprietary dual ASIC design, delivering 1.75% accuracy and ±0.5% linearity while maintaining very low thermal offset and sensitivity drift across the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. The ±1600 A range provides ample headroom for measuring nominal currents up to 1600 A with transient overcurrent capability, while the 4 µs response time and 40 kHz bandwidth capture fast-changing motor drive and switching waveforms with high fidelity. The compact 37.2 x 32.6 mm PCB-mount design weighs only 29 g, making it ideal for space-constrained automotive applications. The through-hole (S00) version enables robust PCB integration, while the integrated sleeve provides high-voltage isolation. The unidirectional polarization makes it suitable for applications with current flow in a single direction.
