    LEM HC5FW 500-S Product Overview

    The HC5FW 500-S is an open-loop Hall effect current transducer from LEM's HC5FW series, designed for the electronic measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits . This PCB-mount sensor is specifically engineered for mid to high-power automotive applications, featuring a compact design that accommodates rectangular or circular busbars passing directly through the sensor aperture . The HC5FW family uses a proprietary ASIC developed by LEM combined with a precisely assembled and calibrated magnetic core to ensure outstanding performance and reliability in demanding automotive environments .

    Rated for 500 A nominal with a ±500 A measuring range, it outputs a fully ratiometric analog voltage of 2.5 V ± 2 V (instantaneous) with 2% accuracy and ±1% linearity . Sensitivity is 4 mV/A . Response time is 6 µs and bandwidth is 40 kHz . Supply voltage is 5 V (4.75 to 5.25 V) . Operating temperature is -40°C to +125°C . Insulation test voltage is 2.5 kV with creepage distance of 3.6 mm and clearance of 2.7 mm .
