    HLSR 20-P/SP33 Product Introduction

    The HLSR 20-P/SP33 is an open-loop Hall-effect current sensor from LEM, a global leader in electrical measurement. It has a rated primary current of 20 A and is designed for isolated measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents. Whether you’re working with industrial drives, switch-mode power supplies, or battery-powered equipment, this sensor delivers stable and accurate current monitoring.

    Founded in 1972 and listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SWX: LEHN), LEM has more than 50 years of expertise in current and voltage measurement. From railway traction to industrial automation, renewables, automotive, and power electronics – choosing LEM means choosing professionalism and trust.


    HLSR 20-P/SP33 Key Features

    1. Fast response – ready when you need it
    With a response time of just 2.5 µs, the sensor reacts to current changes in microseconds – ideal for fast-acting protection circuits.

    2. High accuracy, low drift – performs from extreme cold to extreme heat
    Accuracy of ±1% at 25°C; up to ±3.4% at 105°C. Very low offset and gain drifts ensure stable operation across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C, even in harsh industrial environments.

    3. Compact and easy to mount – reduces design effort
    Ultra-low profile: only 12 mm high, occupies just 3.87 cm² on a PCB, and weighs only 5.5 g. Through-hole mounting simplifies integration. The same package is used across the series, so upgrading to other current ratings does not require a board change.

    4. Safe and reliable – reinforced isolation
    4.3 kVRMS isolation (50 Hz / 1 min) between primary and secondary circuits keeps the lowv-oltage control side safe and the system robust. The sensor is UL, CE and RoHS certified and comes with a 5-year factory warranty.

    5. Reference voltage pin – simplifies signal conditioning
    An internal ASIC provides a 1.65 V reference output (Vref), which can also be driven externally (0.5 V to 1.7 V). Feeding this reference to an ADC or DSP eliminates reference-side temperature drift, simplifies the design, and offers flexible, high-precision signal processing.
