    LEM HSW S01 HSW Series Open Loop Hall Effect Current Transducer

     

    LEM HSW S01 Product Overview

    The HSW S01 is an open-loop Hall effect current transducer from LEM's HSW Series, designed for the electronic measurement of DC currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits . This compact busbar-mount transducer is specifically optimized for automotive Battery Management Systems (BMS) in 48V applications, featuring a unipolar +5 V DC power supply and ratiometric voltage output .

    Rated for 200 A nominal with a measuring range of ±200 A , it outputs a ratiometric analog voltage of 2.5 V at zero current with 10 mV/A sensitivity . Accuracy is ±2% with ±0.3% linearity . Frequency bandwidth is DC to 70 Hz and response time is 1 ms . Supply voltage range is 4.5 V to 5.5 V with a maximum current consumption of 10 mA . Mass is 18.3 g and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C . The device is designed for primary fastening on busbars with a screw mount package .

    The HSW S01 employs open-loop Hall effect technology with LEM's state-of-the-art Hall ASIC, delivering excellent accuracy and very low magnetic offset (<70 mA) while providing galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits . The ratiometric output ensures the sensor's sensitivity and offset scale proportionally with the supply voltage, maintaining accuracy across variations .

    Key features include over/under current detection, reverse supply voltage protection, and ground open circuit detection for robust system-level diagnostics . The compact 18.3 g design with busbar mounting enables easy installation in space-constrained automotive power electronics. The device offers low power consumption (10 mA maximum), very low thermal offset drift, and low thermal sensitivity drift .
