    LEM ITC 4000-S ITC Series Closed Loop Fluxgate Current Transducer

    LEM ITC 4000-S Product Overview

    The ITC 4000-S is a closed-loop Fluxgate current transducer from LEM's ITC Series, designed for the high-precision electronic measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits . This panel-mount transducer features a 102 mm diameter aperture and is specifically designed for railway traction and demanding industrial applications requiring Class 0.5R accuracy .

    Rated for 4000 A nominal with a measuring range of ±6000 A, it outputs a secondary current of 1600 mA at nominal with an outstanding ±0.05% overall accuracy at +25°C and meets Class 0.5R according to EN 50463 . Linearity error is <0.05% with offset currents of less than ±20 μA . Response time is 0.1 µs and frequency bandwidth is 80 kHz (-3 dB) . Supply voltage range is ±21.6 V to ±26.4 V (typically ±24 V). Mass is 8.6 kg and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C . Insulation test voltage is 14 kV RMS at 50 Hz for 1 minute, with an impulse withstand voltage of 30 kV (1.2/50 µs) . The case material is recognized according to UL 94-V0.

    LEM ITC 4000-S Key Advantages

    The ITC 4000-S employs closed-loop Fluxgate technology, delivering exceptional ±0.05% accuracy and <0.05% linearity while providing galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits . The Fluxgate principle offers very low temperature drift, high immunity to external interference, and no insertion losses .

    The 102 mm aperture enables non-intrusive installation of primary conductors without disconnecting existing cables, and the design is insensitive to primary conductor position within the aperture . The ±6000 A measuring range accommodates significant overload conditions, with an impressive 100 kA / 100 ms current overload capability . The 0.1 µs fast response time and 80 kHz bandwidth capture dynamic current signals with high fidelity. The device features really low current consumption of 300 mA . The test winding enables convenient self-test functionality and transducer status verification without primary current .
