    LEM ITL 4000-S ITL Series Closed Loop Fluxgate Current Transducer

    LEM ITL 4000-S Product Overview

    The ITL 4000-S is a closed-loop Fluxgate current transducer from LEM's ITL Series, designed for the non-invasive measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits . This panel-mount transducer features an exceptionally large 268 mm diameter aperture, making it ideal for high-current conductors found in high-voltage DC systems and renewable energy installations .

    Rated for 4000 A nominal with a measuring range of ±12000 A (three times the nominal value), it outputs an instantaneous current signal of 1600 mA at nominal with an outstanding ±0.06% accuracy at +25°C and ±0.08% accuracy over the entire operating temperature range . Linearity error is ±0.01% of IPN . The supply voltage range is ±22.8 V to ±25.2 V (typically ±24 V) . Mass is 40 kg and operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +70°C . Insulation test voltage is 6.4 kV RMS at 50 Hz for 1 minute, with 130 mm clearance and 200 mm creepage distance for reinforced insulation up to 1200 V RMS . The protective case is rated to IP54 .

    LEM ITL 4000-S Key Advantages

    The ITL 4000-S employs closed-loop Fluxgate technology, delivering exceptional accuracy of ±0.06% and linearity of ±0.01% while providing galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits . The Fluxgate principle offers extremely low offset and gain thermal drift, ensuring stable performance over the wide -40°C to +70°C operating temperature range . The ±12000 A measuring range accommodates significant overload conditions up to three times the nominal value .

    A key capability of this transducer is the ability to monitor ±10 A DC over a 4000 A RMS AC current with an uncertainty of ±1 A over the operating temperature range from -25°C to +50°C, making it particularly useful for applications such as transformer protection and leakage current detection . The large 268 mm aperture enables non-invasive measurement on large-diameter cables without interrupting the primary circuit . High insulation for working voltages up to 1500 V RMS in accordance with EN 50178 ensures safe operation in high-voltage industrial environments . The mechanical design offers simplified access to electronics for easy maintenance .
