In power electronic system design, the accuracy and reliability of current monitoring directly affect the stability and safety of the entire system. LEM, a global leader in electrical measurement, offers the LA100-TP closed-loop Hall effect current sensor. With outstanding performance, it has become the ideal choice for many industrial applications.
The LA100-TP is a current sensor designed for electronic measurement of AC and DC currents. It accurately measures DC, AC, and pulse currents while providing galvanic isolation between the primary (high-voltage) circuit and the secondary (electronic) circuit, ensuring safe system operation. Its measurement range reaches ±150 A, and it operates over a frequency bandwidth of DC to 200 kHz, covering most industrial current detection scenarios.
The LA100-TP delivers excellent core accuracy: measurement accuracy up to ±0.45% and linearity of ±0.15%, with strong anti-interference capability. Even in complex electromagnetic environments, it provides stable and true measurement data, helping engineers accurately monitor system current status.
A 1-µs fast response time and a bandwidth of up to 200 kHz enable real-time capture of rapidly changing current signals. Whether in high-frequency switching power supplies or instantaneous current fluctuations in servo motors, the sensor performs reliably.
Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C ensures stable performance from cold workshops to high-temperature factories. Low temperature drift means output characteristics change very little with ambient temperature, delivering true all-temperature reliability.
Maximum supply current is only 10 mA, achieving precise current measurement with very low energy consumption. In addition, the closed-loop Hall effect design introduces virtually no insertion loss, minimising its impact on the main circuit.
The insulating plastic case meets UL 94-V0 standards, and galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits provides a high safety level. The product is RoHS compliant and environmentally friendly.
The LA100-TP incorporates LEM’s more than 40 years of experience in electrical measurement and is widely used in:
AC drives and servo motor drives – Provides real-time current feedback for precise torque and speed control.
DC motor drive static converters – Ensures accurate current monitoring and closed-loop control.
Battery-powered applications – Low power consumption makes it ideal for battery systems.
Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) – Real-time current monitoring ensures reliable power to critical equipment.
Switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) – High-frequency current detection improves power efficiency and stability.
Welding power supplies – Maintains stable measurement under high-load transient conditions.
From industrial automation, renewable energy systems and automotive electronics to power management and traction drives, the LA100-TP has become a preferred sensing component for engineers worldwide, thanks to its versatility and reliability.
