    LEM LA 305-S Product Overview

    The LA 305-S is a closed-loop Hall effect current transducer from LEM's LA305 series, designed for the electronic measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed currents with galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary circuits . This panel-mount sensor features a compact design with a 25.5 x 25.5 mm aperture for primary conductor crossing . The device offers excellent accuracy, very good linearity, low temperature drift, optimized response time, wide frequency bandwidth, high immunity to external interference, and current overload capability .

    Rated for 300 A nominal with a ±500 A measuring range, it outputs a secondary current of 100 mA (instantaneous) with 0.8% accuracy and <0.1% linearity . Response time is <1 µs and bandwidth is DC to 100 kHz . Supply voltage is ±15 V (±5%) . Mass is 170 g and operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C . Insulation test voltage is 6 kV with a creepage distance of 17.2 mm and clearance of 11 mm . The insulating plastic case is recognized according to UL 94-V0 .

The ±500 A range provides ample headroom for measuring nominal currents up to 300 A with transient overcurrent capability (3 × IPN), while the <1 µs response time and 100 kHz bandwidth capture fast-changing switching waveforms with high fidelity . The 25.5 x 25.5 mm aperture accommodates various primary conductors, and the panel-mount design with two ⌀5.5 mm holes enables flexible installation . The 6 kV insulation and 17.2 mm creepage distance ensure robust safety isolation for demanding industrial applications .
