The LAS 50-TP is a high-performance current sensor from Swiss brand LEM, based on innovative Eta technology. It is specifically designed for electronic measurement of DC, AC, pulsed, and mixed currents, providing galvanic isolation between the high-power primary circuit and the low-power electronic circuit to ensure system safety and signal integrity.
Whether you are developing servo drives, frequency converters, UPS, switch-mode power supplies, or need precise current monitoring for battery systems, the LAS 50-TP delivers better than ±1% accuracy and nanosecond-class fast response to reliably support your design.
Key highlights: Eta technology | ±1% accuracy | 200 ns reaction time | ±150 A measuring range
Combining the best of open-loop and closed-loop
The LAS 50-TP uses LEM’s newly developed Eta technology, merging the advantages of open-loop and closed-loop sensors: high accuracy from closed-loop designs and wide measuring range from open-loop designs, plus greater flexibility through a programmable ASIC. In short: more accurate than open-loop, more practical than closed-loop.
Better than ±1% accuracy – At rated current, accuracy exceeds ±1%, with linearity error <0.7%, ensuring trustworthy measurement results.
200 ns reaction time – The sensor responds almost instantly to sudden current changes, giving valuable time for overcurrent protection.
500 ns step response time – The full process from detection to 90% output takes only 500 ns, suitable for high-frequency control loops.
DC to 100 kHz wide bandwidth – Handles DC to 100 kHz current signals, covering most industrial applications.
Wide operating temperature: -40°C to +85°C, suitable for harsh environments from severe cold to high heat.
Vout temperature coefficient only 80 ppm/K (typical) – stable output even under extreme conditions.

The LAS 50-TP is widely used wherever high-precision current sensing is required:
Current closed-loop control for AC variable speed drives and servo motor drives
Current sensing for static DC motor drives
Current monitoring and control for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies)
Real-time current feedback for switch-mode power supplies (SMPS)
Power monitoring for welding equipment
Accurate monitoring of battery charge/discharge current
Current management for energy storage systems
Current sensing for household appliances
Current control for air conditioning systems
Signal sampling in general industrial automation equipment

When selecting a current sensor, accuracy, speed, and reliability are indispensable. The LAS 50-TP is built for exactly that:
Nanosecond protection window
A <200 ns reaction time means the controller knows and responds faster when an overcurrent occurs. This is critical for applications like servo drives and motor protection where response speed is paramount.
±150 A wide measuring range
50 A rated, but can measure up to ±150 A – even if the load momentarily overshoots, the sensor continues to provide accurate output, avoiding the risk of outofcontrol saturation.
Operates from -40°C to +85°C
From outdoor equipment in freezing winters to industrial sites in hot environments, the LAS 50-TP works reliably without additional compensation or temperature control.
UL 94-V0 certified + 5 kV isolation voltage
Safety-designed with a flame-retardant rating and high isolation withstand voltage, providing solid support for your equipment to pass safety certifications.
Compact PCB through-hole design
Through-hole package with compact dimensions (33.2 mm × 14.93 mm × 20.15 mm) – can be soldered directly onto the PCB, saving installation costs and facilitating mass production.
Swiss brand – LEM
LEM is a leading global brand in electrical measurement, with products widely used in industry, rail, energy, automation, and automotive. Choosing the LAS 50-TP means choosing quality proven in the field.
