The LT2005-S/SP2 uses closed-loop Hall-effect (magnetic balance) principle. A compensation circuit achieves high-precision linear conversion from the primary high current to the secondary measurement signal. The measuring circuit is galvanically isolated from the high-voltage primary circuit, enabling safe measurement of instantaneous DC, AC, and pulsed currents without direct contact. This ensures system safety and personnel protection.
With ±0.4% high accuracy and ≤ ±0.1% linearity, the sensor provides stable and reliable feedback even at 2000 A. Response time below 1 microsecond enables very fast reaction to abnormal conditions such as short circuits or overloads, gaining valuable time for system protection.
The frequency bandwidth from DC to 100 kHz (-1 dB) accurately captures steady DC, power-frequency AC, and high-frequency PWM waveforms alike, delivering a faithful instantaneous output signal. This makes the sensor ideal for variable frequency drives, switching power supplies, high-power drives, and many other power systems.
The primary aperture (60.5 × 20.5 mm rectangular or 56 mm diameter) allows easy passage of multiple wires, copper busbars, or round conductors without cutting or modifying the original circuit. Installation is simple, saving retrofitting costs.
The sensor operates from -40°C to +70°C and is designed for outdoor and harsh industrial environments. Low temperature drift ensures consistent accuracy across the entire temperature range.
The sensor introduces virtually no power loss or voltage drop in the measured circuit – an advantage in energy-conscious applications.
Specifically optimised for traction systems, suitable for high-speed trains, metros, trams, and other rail vehicles – for traction converters, auxiliary converters, choppers, and braking energy recovery systems.
Widely used in AC frequency converters, AC servo drives, and DC motor drives, providing accurate current feedback signals to significantly improve motor control performance.
Ideal for current monitoring and closed-loop control in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), switchmode power supplies (SMPS), welding power sources, induction heating equipment, etc., ensuring safe operation of critical assets.
In photovoltaic inverters, wind turbine generators, high-power EV chargers, and industrial/commercial energy storage systems, the LT2005-S/SP2 ensures efficient and stable operation of renewable energy equipment.
Widely used for high-current monitoring and equipment protection in steel & metallurgy, elevator controls, large fans/pumps, forklifts, and similar applications.
