In product development and system integration, even the slightest deviation can compromise overall performance. The accuracy and stability of current measurement often determine the quality of your entire system. The LEM LT208-S7 Hall-effect closed-loop current sensor is designed for those who pursue excellence – delivering Swiss engineering quality to safeguard your products.
Industry-recognized precision benchmark
Total accuracy up to ±0.5%, linearity ≤0.1%. Whether in R&D labs or mass production, it provides reliable data. Every current measurement reflects rigorous quality control.
Microsecond response – capture every transient
Reaction time <500ns, response time <1µs, di/dt tracking capability >100A/µs. Even high-speed pulse currents are captured precisely without missing a beat.
Safety & stability – dual protection
High isolation between primary and secondary circuits – 6kV insulation withstand voltage (50Hz, 1 min). Both your equipment and operators are well protected in complex electromagnetic environments.
Wide temperature & frequency range – ready for harsh conditions
Operating temperature: -10℃ ~ +70℃
Bandwidth: DC ~ 100kHz
Suitable for various industrial sites, immune to cold or heat
Compact and lightweight – easy integration
Size (L×W): 68.00 × 15.00mm; weight: approx. 79g. Modular design allows easy embedding into your equipment without taking up valuable space.
Closed-loop Hall principle for extreme accuracy
The LT208-S7 uses the Hall-effect closed-loop (compensation) principle – also known as zero-flux technology. A Hall element senses the magnetic field generated by the primary current and creates an opposite compensation current to keep the magnetic core flux at zero. This design eliminates nonlinearity errors inherent in open-loop sensors, delivering far superior linearity and accuracy.
True galvanic isolation
Not only are the primary and secondary circuits highly insulated, but the housing also meets UL94-V0 standards. Whether in UPS, switch-mode power supplies, or welding equipment, you get reliable electrical protection.
Flexible output configuration
The secondary outputs a nominal RMS current of 100mA with a turns ratio of 1:2000. By connecting an external precision resistor (typically 50Ω), you can easily obtain a voltage signal suitable for measurement and ADC input. Adjust the sampling resistor to match your ADC range as needed.
Bidirectional measurement for more applications
Supports bidirectional current detection – accurate measurement from positive to negative. Ideal for servo drives, battery charge/discharge, and other scenarios requiring ± current sensing.
High noise immunity
Wide bandwidth combined with the closed-loop principle’s inherent anti-interference advantage ensures clean, stable signals even in strong EMI environments such as variable frequency drives and welding machines.
The LT208-S7 is widely used in power electronics and industrial control:
AC variable frequency drives and servo motor drives – Real-time motor current monitoring provides accurate feedback for closed-loop control
Battery power and energy storage systems – Precise monitoring of charge and discharge currents ensures safe, efficient system operation
UPS and switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) – Online monitoring of input/output current ensures reliable power delivery
Inverter arc welding power sources and digital welders – Proven in WS-200 digital welding power supplies for output current sampling and PID closed-loop control, significantly improving dynamic and steady-state performance
DC traction motors and rail vehicles – Suitable for current detection in railway traction systems
Industrial automation and equipment manufacturing – Versatile current monitoring for various industrial applications
