The LTC 1000-SC/SP6 is a high-accuracy closed-loop Hall effect current transducer from LEM, Switzerland. Designed specifically for high-current measurement applications, it offers a rated current of 1000 A and a maximum measuring range of 3000 A. It accurately measures DC, AC, and pulsed currents. With excellent accuracy, wide temperature range, and flexible mounting options, this transducer has become the engineer’s preferred choice for traction systems, new energy vehicles, photovoltaic inverters, industrial power supplies, and more.
Rated Current (IPN): 1000 A
Measuring Range (IPM): 3000 A
From rated value to three times the peak current, the wide measuring range provides ample safety margin for system design, handling inrush currents and instantaneous overloads with ease. Whether it’s the start-up surge of a high-power traction motor or complex current waveforms in a photovoltaic distribution network, the LTC 1000-SC/SP6 delivers stable, accurate measurement.
Accuracy: 0.4%
Over a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the transducer maintains excellent linearity and stability – the inherent advantage of closed loop Hall technology minimises temperature drift, so measurement errors do not significantly increase with changing ambient temperature. No complex temperature compensation is needed; you can trust its data in industrial, outdoor and extreme climates.
The LTC 1000-SC/SP6 features an innovative modular design, perfectly matching the needs of switchgear and equipment integration:
Free orientation: supports horizontal or vertical mounting – flexibly adapt to your enclosure layout
Busbar integration option: available with or without integrated busbar to suit different primary circuit designs
Multiple mounting foot options – three different mounting methods, available separately or supplied with the transducer
Primary aperture size: 42 mm × 12 mm rectangular window or 42 mm diameter round hole – compatible with a variety of primary conductors and busbars
Output signal: 250 mA transient current output
Supply voltage: ±15 V to ±24 V bipolar DC supply
The secondary side offers two fixing modes: 4 × M5 threaded studs or 4 × Faston (6.3 × 0.8 mm) quickconnect terminals – no special tools required for fast on-site wiring. A built-in shield further improves noise immunity.
Operating temperature: -40 °C to +85 °C
Galvanic isolation: primary (high-power circuit) and secondary (electronic circuit) are electrically isolated
Safety rating: insulating plastic case meets UL 94-V0 flammability rating
Whether installed in a solar farm in the desert or on a railway traction system operating in polar cold, the LTC 1000-SC/SP6 delivers stable, accurate data. The closed-loop Hall technology also provides excellent immunity to external magnetic fields, maintaining accuracy in high-EMI environments.
【Traction Systems】 Optimised for rail traction applications – widely used in single/three-phase inverters, propulsion choppers, auxiliary converters and battery chargers for closed-loop control of DC, AC and pulsed currents.
【New Energy Vehicles】 Applied in electric drive systems for motor current monitoring, providing real-time feedback to motor controllers to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vehicle powertrain.
【PV Inverters & Renewable Energy】 Used in highfrequency switch-mode power supplies and PV inverters for DC-link and AC current sensing. Its 100 kHz class bandwidth accurately captures current ripple from PV arrays, providing precise data for MPPT control and efficiency optimisation.
【Industrial Power Supplies & Drives】 Ideal for monitoring busbar currents in highpower SMPS, industrial drives, etc. The transducer maintains stable output even under high commonmode interference of up to 20 kV/μs, ensuring safe equipment operation.
【Battery Energy Storage Systems】 Accurate monitoring of battery charge/discharge currents helps BMS achieve more precise SOC estimation and extend battery life.

The LTC 1000-SC/SP6 combines the essential qualities of a modern high-current transducer – accuracy, range, reliability and environmental robustness – with LEM’s 30+ years of magnetic closed-loop expertise. It excels in noise immunity, long-term stability and temperature behaviour.
Compared to traditional shunt solutions, it provides galvanic isolation between primary and secondary, eliminating the influence of the measurement circuit on the high-voltage bus and improving system safety. Compared to open-loop Hall sensors, the closed-loop topology offers higher linearity and lower zero-point drift, ensuring consistent measurement accuracy across the entire range.
The modular design philosophy makes selection and integration simple – compatible with multiple mounting orientations, busbar options, and secondary connection methods. Engineers no longer need to repeatedly modify cabinet layouts for mechanical adaptation; a single drawing and wiring scheme can cover multiple system designs.
