Closed-loop Hall technology for accurate, reliable measurement
Using the closed-loop Hall effect principle, the transducer measures DC, AC, and pulsed currents with high accuracy. Galvanic isolation between the primary (high-power) circuit and secondary (electronic) circuit ensures both measurement precision and system safety. It is a high-performance compensated current transducer.
Excellent accuracy and linearity
At 25 °C ambient temperature, overall accuracy is better than ±0.4 % with linearity error below 0.1 %. Over the entire operating temperature range (-40 °C to +85 °C), the error is kept within ±1 %, ensuring long-term reliability. Thanks to its outstanding linear characteristics, the device delivers consistent measurement results across the full measuring range.
Wide temperature range – thrives in harsh environments
From -40 °C to +85 °C, temperature variations will not compromise decisionmaking. Whether in cold northern railway applications, hot southern substations, or outdoor PV plants with large diurnal temperature swings, the LTC 1000-SF/SP23 remains stable. In a real PV plant where module temperatures reached 65 °C under extreme conditions, the sensor maintained linearity error within 0.3 %, a 40 % stability improvement over previous generations.
Fast response – captures transient currents
Response time is better than 1 µs, with di/dt higher than 100 A/µs, enabling capture of the most challenging transient current waveforms. For dynamic scenarios such as inverter start-up, motor load transients, and PV array current ripple, the LTC 1000-SF/SP23 ensures that no rapid change is missed.
Wide frequency response – covers multiple measurement bands
Frequency bandwidth DC to above 100 kHz (-1 dB) delivers excellent performance from DC, through power frequency, to high-order harmonics. It is especially suitable for highfrequency applications such as variable frequency drives, switchmode power supplies, and PV inverters.
Enhanced electromagnetic interference immunity
Facing tough industrial EM environments, the closed-loop design of the LTC 1000-SF/SP23 keeps operation stable even under common-mode interference up to 20 kV/µs – no jitter, no false readings. In high-power VFDs, high-power chargers, and other strong interference environments, it is the “calm stethoscope” of the system.
High safety – galvanic isolation and UL 94-V0 housing
Galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits eliminates high-voltage shock risks. The plastic housing meets UL 94-V0 flammability rating, never compromising safety. At altitudes up to 2000 m, after 3000 hours of continuous operation, key parameter drift remains within 0.05 % of initial values – reliability proven under the strictest conditions. A built-in electrostatic shield is also available as standard for further commonmode interference rejection.
Modular design, flexible mounting
The LTC 1000-SF/SP23 supports panel mounting with multiple flexible options and modular configurations. The primary conductor opening measures 42 × 12 mm or 42 mm diameter, allowing free choice of mounting depending on busbars. Secondary connection offers two fastening modes: four M5 threaded rods or four Faston (6.3 × 0.8 mm) terminals, suiting different wiring requirements. Mounting feet can be supplied either with the device or separately, supporting horizontal or vertical installation. This compact design – especially tailored for traction systems – offers high adaptability for various field conditions.
Lightweight and robust – industrial reliability
Mass approx. 780 g, yet compact and rugged. The transducer achieves high precision while optimising installation space and cost.
