LTC1000-SF/SP29 Product Overview

The LTC1000-SF/SP29 is a closed-loop Hall effect current sensor developed and manufactured by LEM, a global leader in electrical measurement. Designed for nominal DC, AC, and pulse current measurement from 600 to 1000 ARMS, it features a rated primary current of 1000 A with a maximum measurable range of 2400 A. It is widely used in industrial drives, traction systems, renewable energy, power supplies, and automotive applications.

The SP29 suffix indicates a specific mounting base configuration that supports flexible panel mounting while retaining the core electrical performance of the standard LTC1000-SF – offering “standardized quality + modular adaptability” to meet stringent installation requirements across different applications.

Utilising closed-loop Hall effect compensation technology, the sensor measures rated currents up to 1000 A and can handle up to 2400 A. It accurately measures DC, AC, and pulse currents as well as overload conditions, all without interrupting the primary circuit – zero insertion loss ensures system efficiency is maintained.

1µs Fast Response & 100kHz Wide Bandwidth
With a response time of just 1 microsecond and a frequency bandwidth from DC to 100 kHz (-1 dB), the LTC1000-SF/SP29 delivers oscilloscopegrade dynamic performance. It is ideal for applications such as variable frequency drive (VFD) harmonic detection and servo motor instantaneous overcurrent protection where fast response is critical.

High Accuracy ±1%, Linearity ±0.1%, Stable Over Full Temperature Range
At 25 °C, overall accuracy is better than ±0.4%; over the full operating temperature range (-40 °C to +85 °C), accuracy remains within ±1%. Excellent linearity (±0.1%) combined with very low temperature drift ensures consistent measurements in harsh environments.

High Isolation Voltage up to 13.4 kV – Safe and Reliable
Galvanic isolation between primary and secondary circuits offers a test voltage of 13.4 kV (RMS) / 50 Hz / 1 minute. This provides a “fault boundary design” for high-voltage applications such as VFDs, welding machines, and motor drives – effectively preventing catastrophic failure propagation. The housing uses UL 94-V0 flame-retardant insulating material for added safety.

Modular Design, Flexible Mounting
Supports horizontal or vertical installation. The base enables three different mounting options; the busbar can be installed in two ways according to customer preference. Both base and busbar can be integrated into the equipment or delivered separately. The primary conductor aperture is 42 × 12 mm or 42 mm diameter.
