In the complex power environments of industrial automation, energy storage systems, and rail transportation, every current signal affects the safety and efficiency of the entire system. Measurement accuracy and stability often determine equipment reliability and even system lifetime.
The LTC 600-T/SP12 is a closed-loop Hall effect current sensor designed to meet these demanding requirements — a professional solution from LEM, a globally recognized leader in current sensing.
With a rated current of 600A and a maximum measuring range up to 1200A, it uses closed-loop Hall effect technology, providing an instantaneous unipolar analog current output of 99.7 mA (at 1200A). It accurately measures DC, AC, and pulsed currents, making it ideal for PV inverters, rail traction power monitoring, energy storage charge/discharge management, and industrial variable frequency drives.

Using closed-loop magnetic compensation topology with a precision magnetic core and thermal compensation winding, the sensor maintains excellent measurement accuracy over the full temperature range. In real-world tests, after 38 hours of continuous operation at 72℃, output signal deviation remained within ±0.3% — significantly better than the nominal specification.
A modular design allows horizontal or vertical mounting to suit various cabinet layouts. Versions are available with or without an integrated busbar, and even with different mounting foot options — greatly improving system integration convenience and flexibility.
An operating range of -40℃ to +85℃ ensures stable measurement accuracy without degradation, from extremely cold outdoor northern installations to hot and humid southern equipment rooms. This makes the sensor an excellent choice for harsh environments such as remote base stations, rail systems, and offshore wind power.
Galvanic isolation between the high-voltage main circuit and the low-voltage control circuit eliminates the need for extra isolation components when sending current signals to PLCs or monitoring devices. Outstanding linearity, very low temperature drift, and excellent EMI immunity ensure signal integrity even over long transmission distances.
The sensor meets the UL94-V0 flame-rating standard, satisfying strict international safety requirements and helping clear the way for equipment export and regulatory compliance.
Driven by the renewable energy revolution and Industry 4.0, the global current sensor market is expected to exceed US$3.5 billion by 2026, with industrial automation and new-energy vehicles contributing more than 60% of the growth. The LTC 600-T/SP12 excels in the following high-growth segments:
Rail transportation: real-time current monitoring in traction drives, onboard energy metering, railway signal power detection.
Energy storage systems: battery charge/discharge monitoring, combiner box current detection, energy storage converter (PCS) current sampling.
Industrial automation: closed-loop control in variable frequency drives, servo drives, highpower switchmode power supplies.
Electric vehicles (EV/HEV): high-current battery management systems (BMS).
PV and wind: DC and AC side monitoring in PV inverters and wind turbine converters.
Compared to other sensors in the same class, the LTC 600-T/SP12 has been proven in world-class industrial and rail projects, demonstrating outstanding stability and precision under extreme conditions. The current sensor market is shifting from “it works” to “long-term stable and reliable” — and this sensor is an optimal choice for that trend. For high-end applications demanding zero downtime, high measurement precision, and long-term data traceability, the LTC 600-T/SP12 is your best partner.
