The LV100-1000/SP22 is a closed-loop Hall effect voltage transducer from the LV100 series, manufactured by LEM (LEM Group, Switzerland). It is designed for high-precision measurement of DC, AC, and pulsed voltages in demanding industrial environments. As a global leader in electrical measurement transducers, LEM has been dedicated to Hall effect technology for over half a century, and its products are renowned for outstanding reliability and stability, widely used in industrial automation, energy power, rail transportation, and other fields. With ±0.7% accuracy, a rated voltage of 1000 V, and rugged engineering design, the LV100-1000/SP22 is a preferred solution for highvoltage measurement applications.
The product is based on a mature closed-loop Hall effect technology. For voltage measurement, the primary current, proportional to the measured voltage via an external user-selected resistor R, is connected in series with the primary circuit of the transducer. The closed-loop topology generates a secondary compensation current that balances the primary magnetic flux, maintaining the transducer at a zero-flux condition. This mechanism ensures that the Hall element is free from hysteresis and non-linearity errors, resulting in excellent accuracy, good linearity, low temperature drift, and fast dynamic response, with no insertion loss to the measured circuit. The housing is made of insulating material compliant with UL 94-V0, meeting stringent safety and flameretardant requirements for highvoltage applications, providing solid protection for both equipment and personnel.

Main applications |
Variable frequency drives, power supplies, renewable energy, rail transit (traction systems), welding equipment, etc. |
1. Excellent measurement accuracy and stability – Accuracy up to ±0.7% with stable output characteristics over the entire operating temperature range, ensuring reliable and consistent voltage measurement.
2. High isolation voltage for electrical safety – 12 kV RMS isolation test voltage effectively protects low-voltage circuits from high-voltage breakdown, significantly improving system safety margins.
3. Wide operating temperature range – Supports –45°C to +85°C, ideal for extreme environments such as railway vehicles and industrial furnaces.
4. Compatibility with multiple voltage waveforms – Accurately measures DC, AC, and pulsed voltages, meeting complex needs in variable frequency drives, power quality monitoring, and more.
5. Strong immunity to interference – Closed-loop topology and shielding effectively suppress electromagnetic interference, ensuring measurement accuracy and signal integrity in harsh electromagnetic environments.
6. Flexible external resistor configuration – Users can select the appropriate external series resistor R₁ to adapt to different voltage ranges, improving versatility across various applications.
7. No insertion loss – The primary circuit uses non-contact magnetic flux detection, causing no additional energy loss or impedance disturbance to the measured circuit.
Thanks to its wide voltage range, high accuracy, strong anti-interference capability, and excellent temperature performance, the LV100-1000/SP22 is widely used in:
AC variable-frequency drives and servo drives – Precisely monitors inverter input/output voltage, providing reliable feedback for closed-loop control, improving motor speed regulation and system stability.
Rail transit traction systems – Performs critical voltage monitoring in locomotive traction and auxiliary converters, meeting the high reliability and widetemperature requirements of rail transportation.
Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) – Real-time monitoring of output voltage ensures power quality and safe operation for critical loads.
Renewable energy generation systems – Used for DC-link voltage monitoring in wind and solar inverters, optimising energy conversion efficiency.
Welding machines and high-power drive equipment – Provides accurate voltage measurement and control in industrial welding equipment and high-power motor drives.
DC motor traction and electrostatic conversion – Supplies precise voltage feedback signals in motor control systems, ensuring smooth traction system operation.
Battery power systems – Suitable for voltage monitoring in energy storage devices and electric vehicle charging equipment.
When selecting a voltage transducer, the three core considerations are accuracy, isolation performance, and environmental adaptability. The LV100-1000/SP22 delivers ±0.7% accuracy for reliable measurement data, 12 kV RMS high isolation voltage for electrical safety, and a –45°C to +85°C wide temperature range to withstand harsh operating environments worldwide. Whether for the high-reliability demands of railway traction systems or the high-precision feedback required in industrial variable-frequency drives, the LV100-1000/SP22 provides a stable, accurate, and safe voltage measurement solution.
As a classic product in LEM’s voltage transducer portfolio, the LV100 series has been market-proven for decades and is highly trusted by equipment manufacturers and system integrators globally. Choosing the LV100-1000/SP22 means choosing high accuracy, high reliability, and long service life for your voltage measurement needs.
